Scouting Grades

Scouting grades are based on a 20-80 scale where 50 is league average. Every 10 points away from there represents 1 standard deviation away. First number is current grade, second number after the slash is a potential future grade. FV means Future Value overall

The former National’s first-round pick was really starting to pitch well when he went down for the rest of 2018 and all of 2019 with elbow-surgery. On the mound, Dunning’s best weapon is his slider and he has enough of a mix to be a future major league starter. His velocity sits 90-93 mph and tops out at 94. If Dunning’s rehab goes to plan he will be a near-MLB-ready 4/5 starter for either this season or 2021.
