DePaul recently announced that Javon Freeman-Liberty and Courvoisier McCauley will join the team for the 2020-2021 season. Freeman-Liberty comes over after completing his sophomore season at Valparaiso. He is a originally from Whitney Young high school in Chicago. He score nearly 1,000 in just his two season at Valparaiso (992 points). Freeman-Liberty will help the Blue Demons in all facets of the game; he was first team all-Missouri valley, all-defensive team and most-improved team last season. He averaged 19.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game last season.
McCauley was a Division II NABC All-American last year and South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year. He was part of a Lincoln Memorial team that went 32-1 last season. McCauley transfers in after his sophomore season totaling 946 points over that time. One things is for sure he can score the ball; he scored 44 point in a game against Lenoir-Rhyne last year.
These two add both scoring and defensive options for head coach Dave Leitao heading into next season.
